On May 4, 2017, SGA Youth & Family Services invites you to its annual fundraising benefit at The Four Seasons, Chicago. This popular evening includes dinner, a noted speaker and a silent auction, raising critical funds that provide life-changing services to children and families in some of Chicago’s most underserved and distressed communities.
This year’s theme—Building on Promise—speaks to the hope we have for our city; the promise and potential each of us has to make a difference; SGA’s commitment to finding innovative ways that create lasting change; and our commitment to engaging others so we can increase SGA’s reach and can break the cycle of poverty and adversity faced by so many children and families in Chicago.
Last year, SGA Youth & Family Services’ cradle to career programs helped more than 15,000 people. SGA provides infant mortality prevention, counseling in schools, early childhood education, violence prevention and gang diversion programs, vocational training and job placement, college-readiness, and more. These services help break the cycle of poverty and adversity facing many of Chicago’s communities. Our services are unique in providing each person in a family with the supportive tools he or she needs to navigate the entire life cycle, from birth through getting a job and starting a family of their own. Through this Cycle of Opportunity approach, the positive skills each family acquires change attitudes and bring hope to all those around them. These changes are passed down through the generations, and continue to influence the transformation of challenged neighborhoods into healthy communities.
